Our design strategy is project-specific. In an addition or renovation project, existing conditions are carefully documented, and a program of requirements is generated with the assistance of the client. In new construction, site conditions are studied environmental parameters, access, orientation, esthetics are informed by client desires and budget. Design ideas, sketches, notes, and dreams are discussed and implemented into schematic design concepts.
Monitoring during the construction phase is important to assure compliance with the design intent. Local projects include: Stone Street Duplexes, Rupple Row Duplexes, Kohler Residence, Goodwin Residence, Yenawine Residence, King Residence, and the Stieber Residence, among others..
We have over 25 years experience in residential design and construction. We pride ourselves in the ability to serve clients in whatever the direction projects may take traditional, modern, or hybrid.
Design process is carefully considered according to client budget. Experience in residential design and construction provides for a realistic match-up of projected cost and design intent. From day one, time and effort is optimized for client and architect so that progress meetings are productive and energetic.
We have over 20 years experience in commercial design and construction in renovations, tenant finish-out, conversions, additions, and new construction. The goal is to align program and esthetics with budget and marketing objectives. Bob Kohler has worked extensively as in-house architect in real estate development firms which naturally provides him the experience to understand needs and financial objectives of commercial clients. We have initiated several projects that are in various stages of development. We have undertaken studies to determine the viability of a site according to a prescribed use and development plan. A service we provide for this need is site testing and feasibility study. This is a valuable tool - to determine number of units, amount of leasable space, required parking and open space, and setback limitations of a particular site so that clients may assess the financial serviceability of a project.
Local projects proposed or in pre-development include: Westside Village (mixed use), Stone Street Duplexes, Rupple Row Duplexes, Cosmopolitan 'The Cube' Addition/renovation, and Emilia's Kitchen.
